In my life, I experience frequent shivers of excitement, which are generally then followed by a few minutes to even hours of reminiscing. This happening is what I call a natural high. And I think everyone experiences it often if not daily. I don’t know why we get them; I just know how we get them. Somewhere on our personal timeline, we had a moment of pleasure or irresistible joy. We had a great time to say the least. With that moment was present a stimulus to one or more of our five senses. As we continue on through our timeline, beyond that one happy moment, we cross paths with that unconditioned stimulus from long ago. We rapidly notice it, associate it, then BAM! We experience a natural high. We are completely surrounded by recollections of that one happy moment. And for those that have many happy moments, they experience natural highs constantly.
I happen to be one of those people. I am constantly encircled about with unconditioned stimulus’s that trigger a conditioned response, or a natural high. It’s amazing how something so small and so simple can have such a dramatic affect on me.
I think this will be the theme for this blog.
